🌍 Tanzania Enters the Global Web3 Chat
Tanzania’s startup scene just made waves in the Web3 world. Base, the Ethereum Layer 2 incubated by Coinbase, announced the winners of its first-ever Africa batch. And two Tanzanian startups made the list:
Kismati, recognized in the Vibe Coding category, is building at the intersection of culture and code.
Neda Pay, a stablecoin project, is designing decentralized finance tools to make payments more accessible across the continent.

🧠 Swahili AI Just Leveled Up
In a milestone for AI in East Africa, Tanzanian developers Alfaxad Eyembe and Mrina Mtenga clinched first place and $150,000 in a global Google Kaggle challenge. Their work? Advancing AI models to master Swahili language understanding—a big leap for making AI more locally relevant and inclusive.
This is exactly the kind of talent and homegrown research Tanzania needs to keep pace in the global tech race.
🩺 Health-Tech Goes Global, Again
AI-powered cervical cancer screening platform SarataniAI recently took the stage at the Oxford Africa Conference, sharing its mission to revolutionize women’s health across underserved regions. From Oxford to Paris, Tanzanian health-tech is going global.
Fellow AI venture LyfPlus will now represent Tanzania at the RAISE Summit in Paris—one of Europe’s premier AI and impact platforms.

⛏️ Mining Meets Drones: Tanzania in the Timbuktoo Top 10
Tanzania’s Tukutech has just been selected among the Top 10 startups for the Timbuktoo MineTech Accelerator, recognized for its pioneering use of drone technology to modernize Africa’s mining industry. Smart mining isn’t just coming—it’s already being built.
