Exciting news from the Tanzanian financial sector. Selcom Tanzania, a leading Pan-African financial and payment technology services provider, has acquired Access Microfinance, rebranding it as Selcom Microfinance Bank Tanzania.

This groundbreaking move marks the launch of the country's first digital bank, a major step towards a more connected and empowered financial ecosystem.

SAHARA Consult and Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship Select 10 Homegrown Startups

SAHARA Consult and the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship have selected 10 innovative homegrown startups for their inaugural cohort. This initiative aims to transform Tanzania’s education landscape, marking the beginning of a dynamic partnership between SAHARA Consult and the Mastercard Foundation.

In the next three years Sahara consult and Mastercard foundation will be working with 36 EdTech ventures providing them with early stage financing, technical, regulatory and business mentoring support.

Tanzanian Startup Association Signs MOU with Korea Africa Foundation

Strengthening international ties! During a recent presidential visit to Seoul, the Tanzanian Startup Association (TSA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Africa Foundation. This agreement is set to foster exchange programs, share valuable information, and undertake joint research projects, paving the way for enhanced collaboration between Tanzanian and Korean startup ecosystems.

The MOU highlights a commitment to mutual growth and innovation, leveraging the strengths of both regions to support startup development and cross-border collaboration. This partnership promises to open new doors for Tanzanian startups, creating opportunities for learning, growth, and international expansion.
